 Join Genie Lab for a jam-packed week of sublime science madness this Summer!
Whether it’s firing rockets and canons, powering up cars and boats or making toys, sweets or fizzing bath bombs …there’ll be something for everyone.
The week will culminate in our ‘Sleuth Friday’ where you can be a forensic scientist for the day!

August 7th to 11th – From 9am till 3pm. You can book individual day workshops or the whole week. Venue in Genie Lab HQ Normandy, Guildford.

Tim Peake Touches Down!

Astronaut Tim Peake touched down on earth today after his six-month mission on the International Space Station. He has landed safely back on Earth and made history as the first person representing Britain to live on the International Space Station.

Early on Saturday, he said goodbye to his crewmates on the ISS, and set off on the journey home, along with two other astronauts – Tim Kopra from America, and Yuri Malenchenko from Russia.Read More

A charming French 1950’s vintage wooden train lovingly restored into a beautiful children’s table lamp/night light. The lamp has a storage area for items such as little toys, books or trinkets.

Beautifully designed crane light made from reclaimed wood and vintage miniature toy soldiers. The inspiration for the design is from German Bauhaus style factory desk lamp which was originally designed in 1910. The wood itself is reclaimed from floorboards of an old grammar school and is over 100 years old.

The lamp has a storage area for items such as little toys, books or trinkets. Approx Measurements: Height with shade: 64cm base only: 50cm train only: 23cm Length:  46cm  Depth: 14cm Storage area: depth: 12cm by 15.3cm by 11.8cm

Beautifully designed crane light made from reclaimed wood and vintage miniature toy soldiers. The inspiration for the design is from German Bauhaus style factory desk lamp which was originally designed in 1910. The wood itself is reclaimed from floorboards of an old grammar school and is over 100 years old. The wood is Siberian pine with distinctive zebra striping. Lamp head has been up-cycled and is in keeping with modern industrial design style.
